Quinlan is someone who Gus meet after Vaun's death. At that point he wanted nothing to do with the ancients or the curse that was sweeping New York City. It was an aimless time for Gus and it took Quinlan arriving for him to realize that he had to fight or the whole world might go to shit. Quinlan first gained Gus's respect that night and it only took a moment of eye contact for Gus to realize that this was someone he could respect. He didn't trust Quinlan until much later though being the only two in Medietas it was a lot easier to stick together.
Since re-meeting him in Medietas Gus has fallen back into assisting him where he can. He's the sort of person who's given work to do and then released to do it. Quinlan either has faith in Gus or trusts him but they often leave each other alone unless there is a reason to talk. Quinlan had then been the reason that Gus had killed his own mother. Gus doesn't blame Quinlan but he's very angry at everything around him and Quinlan is often the person he lashes out as; if only because he can.
There have been ups and downs and while Gus has been networking Quinlan has been doing whatever crazy shit he does. The man disappeared for a week, which didn’t alarm Gus much, but when he arrived back at the apartment he was covered in debris and saying he’d visited New York. This weird time shit started to piss Gus off but the good news was that they had a way to fight against the Master. The bad news was the other ancients were dead or at least dead to a point that they were unhelpful.
This gave Gus hope and he kept moving forward; training, drinking and networking. Somehow the Olympian showed up and both Gus and Quinlan moved in there. Things began to feel more or less normal until Quinlan invited a teenaged girl to live with them.

Dutch is from Gus's home but they’ve never met in New York. He ran into her at the Halloween party and found some common ground to talk on without realizing that their common ground was the same ground. It wasn’t until Fet arrived and disappeared that he released that Dutch was someone they knew. She’s staying at Fet’s apartment which showed up like the Olympian in Nidus. Gus wants to protect her if he can. More so while Fet isn’t around.
She drinks a lot and more often than not they find comfort in alcohol. It’s something else that they have in common.
Somehow Gus had manged to convince her to buy a cat. He offered to help her pick one out and learn how to take care of it. He was used to taking care of things and since it was his idea, he didn't mind helping out.

Gus had first run into her at the forge. He didn’t understand a lot of what they talked about, having never finished grade school but he found that he liked talking to her. He’d been there to fashion a helmet for his mother, or the monster that controlled his mother. It was a pleasant aspect to that day.
Since then he's tried to lend her a hand when she needs it. He taught her how to run laundry and use the washing machine. Gus is used to taking care of people and he found that helping her with the task was nice. She’d given him apple juice to say thank you and being polite he accepted. Gus can only hope that she continues to stay safe and calls on him if she needs him.
After the horrors with his mother he finds that it’s nice to have people around him he can still help.
She was turned to stone for a month through January and Gus felt it weigh against his shoulders. He blamed himself, for taking her to Nidus to see his new place and then for not walking her back home. Once again he's failed to protect someone he cares about.

It was a weird way to meet and Gus still doesn’t have a good reading on this girl. She’d stopped some falling glass when the light exploded. He’d only just arrived and didn’t know what was normal for a floating island that kidnapped people. It looked as if Luna had her head in the clouds or as if she had half the conversation in her head where Gus couldn’t contribute.
He doesn’t have a strong opinion about her except that she’s a little strange.
He heard her screaming over the network and came to her side. He didn't know her well but he couldn't just leave her.

Gus was trying to get more information about the islands and the means of their kidnapping when Percival replied to his mass video. Gus really doesn’t know what to make of the man. His plan sounded like it might have some validity however he didn’t want something happening to Quinlan the way he watched Vaun die.
He offered his services but only after there was a more concrete plan and he’s thinking of telling Quinlan to stay back so that they aren’t both screwed if this goes south.
Gus ran into Percival at the gun shop too. They had a short talk about guns and Gus reasserted that he liked the guy. He went to Percival’s winter party and talked to the guy there. It wasn’t much of a conversation. Gus’s thoughts were not on fun and parties but he was thankful for a distraction.

Gus was trying to get more information about the islands and the means of their kidnapping when Johanna replied to his mass video. She was blunt and crass but Gus liked talking to her. She said shit as it was and had a mouth and attitude that she expected on the streets. He can understand where that sort of reaction and point of views come from. It strikes a core in him as this is someone who he should keep an eye out for. Not overbearing but it’s how he currently sees her.
Gus doesn’t know her well but he said he’d work with her; at least when it came to finding a way out. He hasn’t had any luck yet and assumes her reaction to that information to be less than friendly. The more he learns about her the more he’s interested. Her world is about as fucked up as his and yet she pushes forward. She opened up a bit and Gus opened up in return. Most of their friendship involves drinking but over the past few conversations Gus feels a deep need to protect her.
Not that he’s going to tell her that. He likes not getting punched.

A meeting at a bar. Jo owns The Roadhouse which is a well-known bar to those who have found themselves here. Gus has been a few times and he usually sees her working. She has a mouth on her and a gloomy disposition but that’s all Gus really knows about her. He wished she smile more but then there aren’t too many reasons so smile here so it’s never a matter he’s going to press.
It isn’t his job but he still expects to see her whenever he grabs a beer.
Got stuck at her bar during the snow storm. It'd been an interesting few days and in that time Gus flirted and learned how to throw darts better. He isn’t about to underestimate Jo any time soon. He applied for a job there but he doesn’t know how that will go. There was a brawl in her place, Gus didn’t know what started it but it left a mark. He helped clean up the next day and he saw the strain on Jo. He’s worried about her even though he knows he has no right to be.

Gus doesn’t remember the night very well though he remembered a few things that she’d told him. She was the sort of person that Gus would want watching his back. She’s forceful, strong and stern but also kind in a way that Gus wished he was. She helped calm him down which was a rare skill.
He apologized on the network but he hopes to speak to her again.
Gus eventually did speak to her again and she was the same smart ass he had met in the bar. It was nice to talk to her again and he didn’t feel like he had to hold back. She’s lucky that she’s cute otherwise he might actually get insulted.

Gus had come to terms with shooting his mother but he stilled needed to do something in his life. That led him to finding a job and training. While on his search he ran into Inara. She smiled at those who passed and waved at him. He figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask her though it was a surprise when she legitimately gave him an answer.
Gus hasn’t formed an opinion on Inara yet but she seems nice and is very pretty.
He swung by the school after the snow storm. He’d more or less finished repairs before that but snow could be hell on buildings that aren’t used to it. She was teaching outside and he’d taken the chance to not only learn a little bit more about what she teaches but to take a look at a leaky roof.

Gus had come to terms with shooting his mother but he stilled needed to do something in his life. That led him to finding a job and training. While firing at the range he met Derek. The man looked like he came from a place similar to Gus’s. Gus wasn’t sure why but the man told him about his father and the reason he’d become a cop. Gus didn’t know his father but he imagined the impact of his mother and figured it was most likely similar for Derek. There were something things that you didn’t forget.
Gus admitted that he rarely got along with cops but he found that Derek would be someone that he might like. Someone worth fighting alongside instead of against.
Derek offered him a part time job of sorts. They were adding an addition to one of his friend’s home. It was something to do and the pay was good. It was also something he knew how to do. Gus liked feeling useful, even if it was just for a bit.

He didn’t have trouble opening up and for the first time he admitted to killing his brother and mother. He hated it but it wasn’t a part of himself that he could run from. Turns out he isn’t the only killer in Medietas.

Gus met her at a party where she managed to convince him to dance. He had only gone to drink and watch. He found that she was from the east coast and had been to New York a few times. Over all it was a good night and he hopes to keep seeing her.
She mentioned missing her kiss and considering Gus's history with his own family he can sympathize. He decided to ask about them and more about her. It was really the only way that he could help.

Gus had been giving blood to his mother without concern for his own safety when he first ran into Adam. He had been weak and ran into the boy. Surprised Gus had thrown him against the wall before realizing his mistake and backing away. Shock and anger at his own stupidity made Gus stubborn and not accept Adam’s help.
He can’t understand why Adam would want to help him after Gus had thrown him against a wall. It didn’t seem like a very smart idea. It confusing him and in his state of blood loss Gus found it very funny.

Gus had been talking to Steven’s sister when he contacted Gus through a private channel. He didn’t know what to think of this guy at first. He’s seen some very controlling families and toxic environments so he treaded lightly. When it was clear that this guy was just looking out for his younger sister Gus’s attitude changed slightly.
Protecting family members is something that Gus understands and can respect.
Gus ran into Steve at the shooting range. He learned that Steve was a pretty good shot and he gave Gus something to do. It didn’t take long for Gus to master and he looked forward to seeing more training methods. Overall, he thinks that Steve is a good guy.
